2011 Diversity & Inclusion Report Recommendations Update 2010 Assessment In the 2010 Diversity, Inclusion and Cultural Competency Assessment Report, Mountain Park Health Center proposed five (5)


recommendations for the upcoming year to advance our diversity strategy. This section provides the 2010 recommendations, and details the progress made on these recommendations throughout 2011.


Expansion of Language Accommodation Activities


2011 Updates: • Dual Role Interpreter Program: Jump to Success Stories


• Mountain Park developed a new policy which prohibits family members and minors from acting as interpreters


• Mountain Park signed three (3) new contracts for interpreter services which will be incorporated into Mountain Park’s interpretation policy and procedure to be developed in 2012


Staff Diversity: Targeted Recruitment of Underrepresented Groups


Target Groups: People with Disabilities, Men, African Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, Somali Americans, Older Adults, and people of various religious backgrounds.


2011 Updates: • Mountain Park has hired the first referral from Arizona Bridge to Independent Living (ABIL) and will con- tinue that partnership to provide individuals with disabilities employment opportunities at Mountain Park


• Mountain Park has added numerous partners to our weekly job announcement blast, which has allowed our jobs to reach many more potential job applicants than before


• Applicant demographics including race, ethnicity, and disability are tracked and monitored through Careerbuilder.com every month
