Page 6 Selling your home
Selling your home can be a stressful and frustrating time, and it’s your estate agent’s responsibility to alleviate this stress and frustration as much as possible. It follows that even if you are merely thinking about selling, choosing the right estate agency is vital.
Firstly, you need someone that not only speaks your language, but can also speak the language of prospective buyers around the world. It’s not just the British that buy here, but Spanish, Dutch, German, French and recently Russian. Can your estate agent have a meaningful conversation with a prospective French buyer?
Secondly, you need someone that can give you good, honest advise. This will ultimately stem from experience and track record. It’s no use having an estate agent that’s been around for a couple of years and are just keeping their head above water with the odd sale. Moreover, you need an estate agent that knows how things work here. There can be no doubt that the ideal estate agency will have many, many years of experience, be managed by a multinational team that includes a seasoned and importantly a qualified Spanish real estate professional, and has a demonstrable track record of selling houses in any economic climate.
Finally, you need someone you can deal with. Where a sense of humour and politeness doesn’t get lost in the transaction. Someone you can phone up at anytime and feel you’re the most important person in the world.
We’d like to introduce you to La Nao Property Group.
Jointly British and Spanish owned and with over 15,000 sales under our belts in the 50 years we’ve been going, we know what it takes to sell houses. We have 5 local offices with sales professionals from a multitude of different countries who can take instructions and sell in English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish and even Russian. We pride ourselves in our approachability, friendliness and professionalism. But above all, we actually sell houses!
Above, we mention that it is important to deal with qualified agents, at La Nao we are officially qualified and registered agents governed and regulated by the College of Estate Agents. This is no small point, we all know that buying a home for holidays or permanent living involves a major investment, perhaps even you life savings. If done properly and with the correct advice there is little or nothing that can go wrong. However, mistakes happen and whilst most of these mistakes can be easily rectified, if your agent has no fixed place of business (more than 75% of agents in Spain have no office!) and carry no professional indemnity insurance cover, who do you turn for a solution?
Over the coming months, we’ll keep you abreast of what’s happening in the world of estate agents, and giving you useful advice on how to make your house more saleable. We have offices in Javea (Port and Arenal), Daimus, Benitachell and Moraira.
