This month we shine the Female Focus spotlight on Kristina.
When did you fi rst know you wanted to be an actress and singer?
‘I have been doing drama and training since I can remember. It started when I got my fi rst solo ‘Once In Royal David’s City’, ever since then I knew I wanted to be a singer. I enrolled in extra classes passing my Guildhall and LAMDA exams with distinction by the time I was 14.’
I believe you have performed in some very special fi lms, theatres and productions and have dreams of appearing in one certain role?
‘I performed in The Byre Theatre in plays such as ‘The Insect Play’ by The Capek Brothers and ‘The Beggars Opera’ playing Lucy Locket. I then had a chance of a lifetime being in the Harry Potter fi lms as an extra, it was a fantastic experience. I then moved to London to pursue my career and train further at Hurtwood House Theatre School, performing in ‘We Will Rock You’ as a yuppie and BV. I also appeared in ‘Taking A Chance on Love’ whilst, at the same time, pursuing my modelling career. I have appeared in West End plays including ‘We Will Rock You’ and my dream is to play Eponine in ‘Les Miserables’.’
Your singing and performing is obviously a passion for you.
‘When I was 15 I recorded a song with Ronnie Drew from the Dubliners and I am hoping to start recording my album towards the end of summer with mostly original tracks with some edited covers (live lounge) - it will be called ‘Innocence is Honesty’.
I am now doing gigs in and around the Costa Blanca and I am also teaching Musical Theatre classes at The Studio in Quesada. Right now I am working on a Cabaret act with Candy, Abbie, Katie and Jodie and we will be appearing in Benidorm in the summer of 2012.
I am still working towards getting my dream role in London but the best things in life are worth waiting for.’
