This month we feature an interesting tale about the value of customer service from Adam Sanabria - Electrician and fellow member of the CBBA.


As a direct result of Adam’s advert in Focus on Professional Services (our sister magazine in the Marina Alta), Adam received a phone call from a lady of senior years asking if he did re-wires. The answer was of course “yes” and after exchanging address details, off Adam went to visit and to prepare a quotation. On arrival, and after an obligatory cup of tea, Adam was pointed to an old antique


lamp. “The wire on that is getting a bit old and needs changing. Is that the sort of re-wiring you can do?”. Of course Adam was thinking the call would be more along the lines of a house re-wire or similar. Then the customer added, “I called 3 or 4 other people and they just didn’t bother to turn up”.


However, this is when a good customer ethos should take over. Adam happily re-wired the lamp, checked it was safe and even refused to take any money for the job. Off he went, smile on his face and thought no more of it. That was until a few weeks later, the same lady called again. This time a quote was required for a major re-wire in the property, a job that would take several days, and would cost ‘a fair bit’. Adam quoted and naturally got the job.


It just goes to show that you should always take each job on merit and never jump to conclusions about your customers. You never know what’s round the corner. It’s this ethos that keeps Adam busy, and the same ethos shared by other members of the CBBA (www.cbba.es).
