The U3A Vall del Pop covers the whole of the Jalon Valley including Alcalali, Benedoleig, Beniarbeig, Campell, Castel de Castels, Fleix, Lliber, Murla, Orba, Parcent, Rafol, Sanet, Senija, Tormos, Xalo and the surrounding area.
U3A VALL DEL POP
What is U3A? U3A stands for the University of the Third Age. It is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment. The word ‘university’ is used in the original sense of the word, ‘a community of people sharing knowledge’. We were formed in September 2006 and now have over 460 members. In Jalon as in other U3A groups, we draw upon the knowledge, experience and skills of our own members to organise and provide interest groups. We provide educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment and are run entirely by volunteers. As a member of U3A you can join a whole selection of groups and enjoy outings including theatres or shopping, study Astronomy, play Petanque, learn Computer Skills, Card Making or Mosaics, play Table Tennis, Chess – the list is endless. New groups just formed are Tennis, Choir and Cinema Groups. In addition, as a member, you benefi t from the special discounts available to U3A Members from various local traders. The U3A is about learning for pleasure. There is no examination and no qualifi cations to be gained; just the enjoyment of experiencing learning and leisure opportunities with like-minded people.

Town Hall/Ayuntamiento in Jalon at 11am with the exception of January, this is on the second Thursday of the month. Please be at the Ayuntamiento, Jalon early, 10.15 for 11.00 am start, especially if you are joining as a new Member.

Speaker will be from MABS Charity, plus presentation on the October Cruise 2nd February – General meeting - 10.30 for 11 am start – Town Hall/Ayuntamiento in Jalon 9 February – Tea Dance - 3pm to 6pm at El Cid, Benidoleig.
