Super efficient SL 97 folding glass door launched The launch of a super efficient folding glass door marks a significant development. Solarlux has launched their most efficient glass door to the UK market. Combining four core elements that enable the door to achieve a U value of 0.80Wm2
K, the new SL97 wood/aluminium fold-
ing glass door is specially designed with the demands of energy saving in mind. By using
wood internally and a combination of insulating material and protective aluminium externally, as well as triple glazing, the SL97 has been able to combine the advan- tages of four materials. Inside, the wood panels create a natural warm atmosphere and, on the outside, the fully insulated rear-ventilated aluminium facing sheets guar- antee permanent protection from the elements with only minimal maintenance.

Spectus window systems help transform Manchester Spectus Window Systems and Worsley Glass are helping to transform a Manchester community, in part- nership with Manchester City Council, Miller Homes and framework contractor GB Building Solutions. Spectus’ flagship Elite 70 system is ideal for the Moss Side regeneration project as its multi-chambered profile delivers optimum thermal efficiency, and it can achieve a Windows Energy Rating of Band A. An additional factor that led to Spectus Elite 70 being specified by Manchester City Council’s architect was the fact that Spectus offers its profiles in over 60 coloured finishes as part of its Spectrum foiling range, meaning they deliver on aesthetics as well as performance.
Manchester City Council specified Spectus’ Elite 70 in a grey 7016 foil to com- plement the aluminium composite windows.

PAS 24 option demonstrates Trojan’s innovation
The Trojan Manufacturing Group’s stainless steel Sparta door handle has proved a popular addition to the company’s portfolio, but the introduction of a new option is set to make it more popular than ever: there is now a PAS 24 option that can be retro-fitted. As Tony Chadwick, Trojan’s managing director, says: “It will help fabricators and installers save a considerable amount of money. Firstly because they can cut down on inventory, but more importantly, because it’s an extremely competitively priced unit that can be combined with a standard specification cylinder to give a PAS 24 door handle at an incredible price and with a 25 year guarantee.” Like all Trojan products, the innovation is what makes the difference. The PAS 24 option is a simple surface-mounted cylinder guard that can be fitted without needing to drill through the door. It is an exciting addition to a stainless steel door handle range that already offers an array of benefits and options that make it suitable for a variety of door projects.
