Yeoman Shield ‘working out’ at active living centre Yeoman Shield is hard at work in the gym at the Active Living Centre (ALC) (part of the recently opened £28 million Newport High School development, run by Newport City Council) protecting walls from damage. As well as being used by pupils of the school and local community, the ALC is also the training base of the Newport Gwent Dragon’s Rugby team. ALC duty manager, Jamie Hart, explained: “The gym is a busy place, used by many people of all ages. We contacted Yeoman Shield as we

Feet do the talking as Tolent’s work helps visitors Tolent Construction have completed a £1.26 million contract to redevelop the Promenades Shopping Centre in Bridlington, leading to an increase in visitor numbers. Workman, property management and building consultancy special- ists commissioned Tolent to extend and recon- figure the shopping centre to form three new retail units with new high quality public toilet facilities. The Centre remained open throughout the development and following completion the
average footfall has risen from 80,000 to 120,000 per week. “It is gratifying to see a substantial increase in visitor numbers at the Promenades, following a rede- velopment in which Tolent has played a key role,” said Tolent operations director.
