Club owner Erica Francoise said: “With

these results, ESKF is now the 2nd best team in the United Kingdom. It also boasts being the only Club in the United Kingdom in the history of karate to get a gold medal in team kata in any European or World Karate Championships.

“Sincere thanks go to Sensei Essam Shreif and our referee Sensei Ken McLaughlin but most importantly, to the children themselves who trained so hard for this competition, and to their parents who paid for the trip.”

This is the fi rst time that the Club participates in such a high level European competition organised by the World Union of Karate-do Federation (WUKF). When the club travelled to Poland and the Czech Republic in 2010 in competitions organised by local Federations, it lifted four bronze medals from each of the competitions.
