Something to Sing About An

amazing charity song “I am Woman” has been released by 40 women who between them have

been aff ected by heart attacks, strokes, breast cancer, cervical cancer and domestic abuse.

Though these women set out to raise money and awareness for their charities they also found support and camaraderie.

One woman from Eltham was among them. Sandra Hardy was diagnosed with cervical cancer ten years ago.

“I found out I had the disease just after I’d had my son. That year was terrible for me as I lost my mum to breast cancer as well.

“I eventually made contact a few years later with Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and they have been a fantastic support. I can go on their website and chat to other women in a similar situation and read their stories.

“The charity helps you to realise that you are not alone and there are other women going through a similar experience “

The 46 year old who was born and brought up in Eltham and now lives in New Eltham. She wanted to help the charity.
