ISCA Iscaguard®
Iscaguard IU and Iscaguard DU
® ® Iscaguard® IU, imidazolidinyl urea and Iscaguard® DU,
diazolidinyl urea, are both fine white, virtually odourless powders with excellent activity against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria.
Both are extremely soluble in water and do not usually require heating to dissolve. Neither product should be exposed to temperatures greater than 40ºC and should be added during the cooling stage of hot processes.
Regulatory Status Iscaguard®
DU is permitted in the US (maximum 0.5%)
and Europe (maximum 0.5%) but it is not permitted in Japan. Iscaguard®
IU is permitted in the US (maximum 0.5%)
and Europe (maximum 0.5%). It is permitted in Japan for use in rinse-off products only up to a maximum of 0.3%.

Iscaguard CMI ® Iscaguard® CMI is a 1.5% solution of a blend of
chloromethyl and methyl isothiazolinone in a strictly controlled ratio of 3:1. The mixture is stabilised with magnesium chloride and magnesium nitrate.

0.25% Iscaguard® DMD is a 55% solution of dimethyl dimethylol
hydantoin(DMDMH) in water. It has excellent broad-spectrum activity and is effective at low use concentrations, from 0.15-0.4%.
Using Iscaguard® Iscaguard®
DMD DMD has excellent solubility in water and
should be added during the cooling stage of hot processes.
Regulatory Status Iscaguard®
DMD is approved for use in the US, Europe (up
to a maximum of 0.6%) and Japan for rinse-off products only, up to a maximum concentration of 0.3%.
