15 Iscaguard BIB ® Iscaguard® BIB is a blend of 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,
3-diol (bronopol) and iodopropynyl butyl carbamate (IPBC) in Benzyl alcohol, giving the advantages of broad-spectrum anti-microbial protection and the ease of liquid handling.
Iscaguard® BIB retains its activity and is stable over
a pH range of 4.5 – 8.5. Using Iscaguard®
BIB Iscaguard® BIB is soluble up to approximately 2.5% in
water, but warming up to 40ºC may help speed its dissolution. It is recommended that it is added during the cooling stage of hot processes. Iscaguard® typically used 0.05 – 0.3%.

0.61% but should not be used in oral hygiene and lipcare products. It is considered safe as used in the US. Iscaguard®
