ovember marks an exciting milestone for Bullring as the centre’s new dining destination, Spiceal Street, opens.

On 24 November we open Spiceal Street, our new dining quarter located in the St Martin’s Square area. When we first revealed our plans for Spiceal Street in September 2010 we were overwhelmed at the response we received from the general public. We had identified that whilst Bullring excelled in

terms of our fashion offering we had room to improve and extend our catering offer. And this month we’ll welcome three new restaurants – the region’s first Browns Bar and Brasserie and ChaoBaby, whilst locally-run operator handmade burger Co. will open a large flagship restaurant.

the development we’ve been able to bring some great new architecture to St Martin’s Square, which complements both the iconic Selfridges building and St Martin’s Church. There will also be a new public art commission that will be unveiled. November also marks the start of our Christmas

trading period. As we embark on some of our busiest weeks of trading we continue to be mindful of the economic climate. The trends that seem consistent are mid-season discounts and flash sales, which have proved successful with our visitors and we expect this to continue into the Christmas period. From 1 December the centre will be open until 10pm during weekdays, offering two extra trading hours a day. Shoppers, this year, will also be able to take the

‘On 24 November when Spiceal Street is officially opened we’ll be celebrating with a host of activities’

I am really proud of the names we’ve brought to the city and feel that we’re adding something new and fresh. When Spiceal Street is officially opened on 24 November we’ll be celebrating with a host of activities including spectacular dance performances, music and opportunities to sample food from the restaurants. The new restaurants, along with the existing five in the vicinity, will be

open late into the evening, adding a new dimension to Bullring as a centre and ultimately offering a new evening destination for the city. As part of

Solihull brands at Rihanna arena gig

As part of a unique new partnership between the NEC Group and Solihull Business Improvement District (BID), some of Solihull’s high-street fashion brands will be showcasing their latest collections on a catwalk in forumLIVE – the LG Arena’s pre and post show entertainment space – to fans attending the Rihanna concerts on 18 November 2011. Rihanna fans will be entertained by professional dancers and DJs as

fashion stores from Solihull’s brand packed town centre, which includes the likes of Superdry, Hollister, Topshop, Office, French Connection and Swank, showcase their Autumn/Winter ranges. There will also be professional photographers capturing shots of

stylish fans and a live blog (www.thatssomystyle.com) – where fans can post pictures of themselves in outfits inspired by Rihanna and get their hands on style tips from professional stylist Holly Jones, who has worked with the likes of Jay-Z and will be dressing the dancers for the event. Additionally, £250 shopping vouchers are up for grabs for some of Rihanna’s most fashion-conscious fans. The catwalk events are part of ‘That’s So Solihull’ – a major marketing campaign designed to inspire and encourage shoppers to explore Solihull’s many shops, bars, restaurants and cafes. Shirley Sturzaker, director of Solihull BID, said: “We are absolutely

delighted to have found such an innovative and high-profile partner in The NEC Group to help us host these events, which are all about putting Solihull’s fashion retailers in front of their target audiences. In return we promise to get the party well and truly started for LG Arena customers with an energetic and exciting performance! “The Rihanna concerts, in particular, were the perfect opportunity to launch these catwalk events as the Grammy-award winning artist is renowned for her bold and innovative style. . “We hope this will be the start of a whole series of amazing

entertainment events that Solihull will showcase at the LG Arena to promote the town, and we look forward to working with the LG Arena team.”

opportunity to relax and unwind in our Spiceal Street restaurants as they trade into the evening. This Christmas we’ve partnered with Global Radio to offer shoppers some in-centre incentives. From 25 November until 23 December the unit located in the Moor Street Selfridges Car Park will be transformed into a Shopping Sanctuary where shoppers can relax and create their Christmas wish lists. The partnership also sees the launch of ‘Bullring Radio’, which will

broadcast across the malls. Until 23 December retailers will be able to promote their latest offers, must-have items and events to shoppers whilst they’re in the centre. As we move into the Christmas period we’re feeling confident about the

retail and catering mix we offer our shoppers. The addition of Spiceal Street, new retailers such as Vans and Luke, and a variety of new brands to Selfridges have enhanced the Bullring experience for our shoppers and we look forward to watching this evolve during 2012.
