Flying high: one of the restored Tiger Moths Restored Tiger Moths take flight
A trio of World War II aircraft have returned to the skies after a lengthy restoration programme which has involved a specialist Birmingham paint maker. The three planes are Tiger Moths, the oldest of which
dates from 1935. They were built by De Havilland and at Morris Motors, Cowley, and have been the subject of a restoration programme. Part of this has included the application of new paint
by Indestructible Paint, a major supplier of specialist coatings to the international aerospace and defence industries. The paint replicates those used on the Moths when
they were in service during the war, when they were used as training aircraft. The three Moths have been returned to the skies in
time for Remembrance Sunday, which this year is on 13 November.
