Manhattan confirms exclusive Automoblox deal

for the Automoblox line of modular wooden vehicles in Europe since January 2008 and worldwide since January 2009.

In late

2010, Automoblox had disputed Manhattan Toyís rights under the agreement and the dispute was recently settled by an arbitrator in Manhattan Toyís favour. The arbitrator ruled the license agreement between Manhattan Toy and Automoblox remains in full force and that Manhattan Toy continues to have the exclusive rights to manufacture and distribute the line worldwide. A statement from Manhattan Toy confirmed that it will continue to

work with Automoblox to deliver new models to the award-winning range of vehicles.”Manhattan Toy has good stock availability of most models to service customers for the important fourth quarter selling period,” said a spokeperson.

A recent arbitration ruling has reaffirmed Manhattan Toyís rights under a license agreement with Automoblox, LLC. Manhattan Toy has been the exclusive licensee and distributor

TRA awards open for entries

The 2011 Toy Retailer of the Year awards for the UK and Ireland application process is now open. Retailers can compete nationally in like-for-

like categories and can apply in more than one category, if applicable. The BTHA are looking to open entries to the retailer awards further and have created an application process which will again allow self nominations, with nominations also coming from a panel of nationwide industry experts. The application process has been specifically designed to capture retailers’ key details whilst creating a more simple ‘user friendly’ application form.

The 2011 Toy Retailer of the Year Awards categories will be as follows:

Best independent toy retailer (no more than 2 stores) Best Multiple toy retailer (3 or more stores, on high street or as part of larger department store) Best toy department (grocer) Best toy catalogue (catalogue sales either as a main business or as a department of your store offering) Best online toy retailer (either as a main business or as a department of your store offering) Best overall toy retailer for UK and Ireland – the overall winner will be picked from the winners of the other categories and announced at the Industry Awards Evening.

New for 2011 Special Recognition Award – Judges will have the ability to make a Special

Recognition Award at their discretion after considering all entries. However, this is not a category for which retailers can actively submit an entry. The finalists will be announced in December with the winners being unveiled

alongside the Toy of the Year Award winners at the industry’s annual gala evening on 24th January 2011 at Banqueting House. If you would like to enter the competition please email Liz@btha.co.uk for an application form and the associated entry information.
