industrymoves Senior management changes at GP Flair


The Giochi Preziosi Group has announced a number of senior management changes within its UK subsidiary, Flair Leisure Products Plc. Dario Berté and Oddone Pozzi, joint CEO’s for the Giochi Preziosi Group, confirmed the appointment


of Peter Brown as chairman of Flair, while Simon Hedge is promoted to senior vice president, sales and marketing.


Speaking of the changes, Mr Berté and Mr Pozzi jointly commented: “Following another record year at


Flair, we are pleased to confirm these management changes which will reflect both the current and future requirements of our fast expanding UK subsidiary.” Further commenting, Peter Brown said: “Simon and I welcome the challenges that our new positions hold and look forward to taking GP Flair onto the next stage of its development and achieving new goals for the company. We have a strong and growing team that is well equipped to help us achieve these objectives and we believe that there are many exciting times ahead of us.” Peter Brown and Simon Hedge together with Carl Moran were founding directors of Flair Leisure Products PLC which was established in 1999 and incorporated within the European Giochi Preziosi Group in 2008.


Family Entertainment specialist, DHX Media, has hired Angeles Blanco as director of licensing. Blanco will oversee consumer products development in all territories except for North America and will be based out of DHX Media’s London office, effective immediately. In her new role, Blanco will focus on developing


new international consumer products offerings across multiple categories and platforms for properties including Rastamouse and Animal Mechanicals, among others.


Advanstar Licensing, producer of Brand Licensing Europe 2011, has announced the appointment of Rachel Cowdrey, as marketing manager. Previously the Head of Marketing at SMi Group, Cowdrey will be in charge of the marketing activities for Advanstar’s flagship exhibitions across Europe and brings with her over 10 years of exhibition marketing experience.


BBTradesales, has welcomed former I Want One of Those Ltd buyer and TV presenter, Ella Williamson as product marketing specialist. Ella has worked in


the gift and gadget industry since graduating from the University of Bristol in 2005 and spent over five years as a buyer, before specialising in consumer technology public relations at Beam PR Agency. In addition to Ella’s ‘day job’ she has also spent the last 4.5 years as a TV presenter on BBC2’s Something for the Weekend with Tim Lovejoy, and has recently been appointed as the Kid’s Toy expert on the newly launched Argos TV Channel.


BBTradesales has also announced the appointment of Andrew Lamb as national account manager.


Coolabi has appointed Natasha Dyson as head of licensing. Natasha most recently worked at Chapman Entertainment. Natasha will oversee the licensing activity for Coolabi’s growing portfolio of properties including Poppy Cat, Purple Ronnie and Scarlett & Crimson, plus Bagpuss, Clangers and Ivor the Engine which Coolabi represents on behalf of Smallfilms and Peter Firmin.

account manager for the north of the UK. The licensed character manufacturer has brought Joanne Airey on board to assist Zara Grindrod, director of sales. Joanne, 36, is no stranger to the industry and


her extensive experience includes territory sales manager for Russ Berrie and for Depesche.


Zodiak Rights, the international division of Zodiak Media Group, has re-structured and expanded its UK consumer products team ahead of Brand Licensing Europe 2011. Jane Kennedy has been promoted to head of


sales, consumer products (UK), Zodiak Rights, where she will report into Jennifer Lawlor, SVP strategy and planning, Consumer Products (UK). Zodiak Rights’ UK licensing manager, Emily French Ullah will take up the new position of licensing manager, softlines EMEA, working across all UK properties. Gaby Dior has been appointed International licensing manager, Agents. Team coordinator Aidan Taylor-Gooby has been promoted to Junior Licensing Executive.
