Horsham Rural City Council’s General Manager of Technical Services, Mr David Eltringham visited Horsham District Council, Horsham, West Sussex, England. Mr Eltringham is pictured here with Cllr Brian Donelly, Chairman, District Council of Horsham receiving a painting of the town’s signifi cant St Mary’s Church, which dates back to the 11th Century. On his return, Mr Eltringham presented mutual gifts to Horsham Rural City Council and the Horsham Soccer Club during a Council meeting.
Local Laws adopted by Council
Horsham Rural City Council has adopted two Local Laws. These are:
Number 1 Meeting Procedures Law Number 2 General Local Law 1999 (which became effective on and from 1 January 2000)
During 2002, Council adopted an amendment to Local Law No 2 which prohibits people from allowing unreasonable noise from electronic equipment to emanate from a motor vehicle. A review of Local Law Number 2 is now completed and is expected to be issued for consultation in October 2011. The new Local Law once adopted will be known as Community Local Law No 3.
Key Achievements
• Successful inaugural animal microchipping day with funding assistance from Council
• Follow up of all overdue Animal Registrations • Soon to commence issuing Parking Infringement Notices using hand held mobile technology
• Continued 100% success rate in court for domestic animal act cases
• Domestic animal management action group working in co-operation with Horsham “PAWS” (People for Animal Welfare & Support)
