British companies exhibiting in Barcelona will have new products, innovation and fresh ideas for the European market

halls from 18 October. A

The new launches represent a high profile theme of innovation for the European show which traditionally showcases products expected to find their way through to the customer in 2012. The new product emphasis is again on energy, conservation and water treatment.

The Piscina three day show puts great emphasis on new product innovation and this autumn has two new product awards – one for innovation and the second for sustainability.

Over 300 new products are listed to be seen at the show.

WATERCO ADDS NEW PRODUCTS TO ITS ENERGY SAVING RANGES Waterco Europe has a high profile launch in Barcelona of new additions to its fibreglass and injection moulded products for the swimming pool and spa trades.

Its new three speed Hydrostorm Eco pump can save the energy normally used during normal filtration by up to 67%. It’s three speed motor means pool owners need only use the full high speed setting on the pump for backwashing and vacuuming when it is really required. The rest of the time the pump can be set to low or medium speed meaning that systems runs quieter and offer significant energy savings.

advantages of the MultiCyclone systems. Waterco Glass Bead media is a revolutionary product, made from glass that is virgin material only it is spherical in shape and design. Waterco glass media has many added benefits over other medias including a 30% reduction in backwashing over standard glass media and sand.

SPA FIX TAKES ITS WINNING FORMULA TO SPAIN

Spa Fix, the UK online hot tub parts and repair company, is about to turn its attention to Europe. “The Piscina show is really important for us,” said Bill Norris from Spa Fix.

The business is launching a new Spanish e- commerce site before the Barcelona show starts, as part of its strategy to take what has been a successful UK formula into Spain and France. “SPATEX in February was an important event for us and we had a great take off for the business there. Since then we’ve built on that success and now stock over 1,200 lines to become the leading hot tub parts and repair business in the UK.

“We’ve also put a lot of effort in perfecting our online offering so we think it is ready to broaden out. Certainly we are not satisfied with just limiting the operation to the UK. Barcelona for us will be the chance to push out into Europe. What we want to do is get into contact with engineers and spa people based in Spain and France and then start to set up the network to support a wide European customer base.

Spa Fix exhibited at Piscine in Lyon last autumn and picked up a lot of strong leads which were converted into customers.

At SPATEX, Spa Fix launched the first edition of a comprehensive, hard-backed catalogue produced in response to customer requests for a reference guide.

“The 128 page catalogue has now become the ‘bible’ of the trade,” said Bill Norris.

ELECTRO UNVEILS NEW POOL HEATERS Elecro Engineering will be unveiling a range of new products in its pool heating range. The Elecro ‘Spectrum’ UV Steriliser, and the Elecro

G2 Heat Exchanger will be seen alongside the company’s flag-ship Titan Optima (electric heater). The Titan Optima is manufactured at the Elecro works in Hertfordshire and uses pure titanium flow tubes for use with salt water pools. The heater is operated using a control panel touch screen. Safety and equipment protection is provided by the highly reliable flow switch, over temperature protection is provided by the four safety thermal cut out’s (auto-reset) and a safety thermal cut out.

The digital control board allows accurate control of pool water temperature thanks to its high precision. The blue digital characters on the touch screen are clearly legible, even in bright sunlight.

The unit can be floor or wall mounted, and comes supplied complete with a bracket for vertical wall mounting offering the simplest and tidiest of installations even in limited spaces, thus making it particularly suitable for parallel multi- unit installations.

POOLTRONIX SYSTEM COULD BE A EUROPEAN FAVOURITE

The Pooltronix system of keeping pool water at a high level of purity through electrolysis will be seen at Barcelona against a background of more European pool owners looking to reduce the amount of chemicals in water.

The Pooltronix system is becoming popular and in demand from pools of all sizes.

“We seem to have struck a chord of concern with all those running swimming pools,” added Richard Morrison, who now runs the business from the Isle of Wight.

The drive to perfect the ‘E’ system was prompted by the French Swimming Pool Federation, who approached Pooltronix to perfect its salt electrolysis system to run in public pools up to EU swimming pool standards. It is well
