debris cover. These covers are specifically designed to protect the pool by preventing ingress to debris and are also designed so that water drains through into the pool itself thus preventing the cover from becoming weighed down and placing undue strain on the fixings.
SWIMMER COVER UPS
Golden Coast continue their Four Step winter programme by offering two quality winter debris covers, the Swimmer ‘Classic’ and ‘Superweb’ are each manufactured from tough woven black or green material.
EMBRACING ALL SEASONS
ABOVE: Perfect for winter – two of Golden Coast’s own brand ‘Swimmer’ water treatment products
WINTER WITH SWIMMER Golden Coast stocks the full range of own ‘Swimmer’ brand water treatment products and have prepared an easy four-step ‘Check List’ to ensure the pool and supporting systems are prepared for shut-down: Step One: Empty the skimmer and pump baskets and apply Swimmer ‘Filter Cleaner’ to clean the sand media to remove grease, oils and dirt accumulated during the season. Step Two: Test and balance water accordingly, after which any Swimmer granular chlorine products can be applied to shock dose the pool. Step Three: Treat water with Swimmer ‘Wintertime Algaecide’, either in its standard form or copper-free, which is specially formulated to inhibit the growth of algae during the winter months. Step Four: The pool is now completely chemically protected and all that is needed is the addition of a good strong and well fitted winter
Plastica winter debris covers protect the pool through the closed season
A product that has become increasingly popular during the past five or six years is the versatile low-profile pool enclosure or cover. These covers are designed to be a safety cover, solar cover and debris cover in one and make winterising easier still as they are already in place, protecting the pool from wind-blown debris and the elements whilst at the same time extending family swimming time. The temperature beneath the cover will remain several degrees higher throughout the winter so it is very unlikely that freezing conditions would affect the pool. However, cover manufacturers do advise running the circulation overnight through any extremes of winter just to be sure no damage occurs.
WINTER RESISTANT BARRIER Plastica’s winter debris covers are tailored for each pool, providing an excellent barrier against leaves and debris whilst allowing rain water through and preventing dirty water build up on top of the cover. The cover is easy to use, abrasion resistant and manufactured from the best quality material available. Available with a choice of tension fittings
and anchor units the covers can also be supplied reinforced with criss-cross straps across the entire cover in both directions (cover size restrictions). Plastica debris covers are normally made 0.3m (1ft) larger all around the pool to allow for overlap and provide a taut, wind resistant barrier against leaves and other debris. The covers are made from a tough, UV stabilised, woven green/black material. The whole perimeter is finished with green/black webbing which is triple stitched to the cover material with rot-proof thread, giving excellent strength characteristics that will last year after year. Straps are added around the perimeter approximately every one to two metres for anchoring to the deck, these are protected underneath by tough anti-chafing straps that resist abrasion from the pool coping stones. spn
