Would you like to swing with a star?
AUSTRALIAN star of screen and stage, Tom Burlinson will be swingin’ by Wests Nelson Bay Diggers on Saturday, November 5 and Wests New Lambton on Sunday, November 6 in a sensational, swinging salute to the masters of the genre titled Now We’re Swingin’.
Burlinson’s illustrious career
stretches from acting and singing, to television host and theatrical producer. He fi rst shot to stardom was in the ’80s when he was cast in the title role in the box offi ce hit The Man from Snowy River, which became one of the most successful Australian fi lms ever made. This led to a string of starring roles in movies such as Phar Lap, Eureka Stockade, Flesh and Blood, The Legend of Kootenai Brown, The Man from Snowy River II, and many more. More recently, Burlinson created
and starred in the acclaimed theatrical production Frank – Life in Song, which played highly successful seasons at premier venues around Australia, including Star City and Crown casinos. Now, Burlinson has delved even deeper into the great American song book to create Now We’re Swingin’, a montage of swing classics by Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin and Frank Sinatra through to the songs made famous by super cool swingers of the current era – Harry Connick Jr, Michael Bublé and Robbie Williams. “This music is, to a degree, timeless,”
Brulinson said.
