A number of Arkansas elected officials are

active in International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials and Treasurers (IACREOT); in fact, an Arkansas delegation is just back from the 40th annual convention in Atlantic City, New Jersey. IACREOT’s mission

is to provide an edu-

cational format as well as networking opportu- nities and this year that was certainly the case, according to Cheryl Wilson, IACREOT Dire- tor at Large; she is the Union County Circuit Clerk. “One of the important aspects of IACREOT is the committee structure and you are encour- aged to become a part of the Recorder’s Com- mittee which plans the annual seminars,” she said. “Tis is where the ideas and energy of our members guide the direction of the educational programs. So, please consider becoming in- volved with this or one of the other committees that guides the business of IACREOT.” Members are government officials whose re- sponsibilities fall into one of four divisions – fi- nance, land records, courts and elections. Next year’s convention and trade show will be June 29-July 1 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
