ACE Program: Y

T

our new continuing ed resource!

he Association of Arkansas Counties is proud to announce its entrance into the continuing education programs for five of our member associations.

Te continuing education boards for County Judges,

Treasurers, Circuit Clerks, County Clerks and Collectors have worked with us and approved a plan for our involvement through a newly formed arm of the AAC called the ARcounties Continuing Education Program (ACE Program for short). Tis means the ACE Program will now be the coordi- nating and certifying body for these groups.

Tis new member service comes

after

careful and detailed analysis combined with a great amount of input from many of you in affected county offices.

Part of the AAC mission state- ment is to provide education to all of our members, and we see this as a great oppor- tunity to become more involved with each of you by offering support that our member associations desperately need. Our involvement comes alongside the Auditor of State’s office, and we will together provide resources to your president and continuing education board.

But it does not stop with continuing education. Tis

move enables the Association of Arkansas Counties to devote resources to the educational process for all county disciplines. On the horizon we will see this move coalesce

into a commitment to broad-based education in areas im- portant to the functioning of county government. Because of years of effective management of re- sources the AAC finds itself in a position to devote time to our county officials by having a full time education presence in Brenda “Emmy” Emerson here in the AAC office.

Each year new issues arise for us all, whether they be fund-

ing, management of facilities, disaster recovery or techno- logical advances. Te AAC is positioned, better than ever, to bring programs to you that will help in areas such as these. We are excited to be moving in this direction and very thankful for the skills and direction Emmy brings to her

new position.

Te Association of Arkansas Counties is committed to finding new, effective ways to support and assist all of our

county elected officials in their crucial jobs. Tis is an

exciting step in that ongoing process – and we welcome any input you can provide to help us continue to be innovative.
