I don’t know how many of you get TV or how many of you manage to use the interactive part of the BBC, but I really enjoyed watching The Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show. I always enjoy watching the spectacle of how these amazing gardens are created.

I also enjoy watching it as it reminds me of the two gardens I have been part of at the world famous show. What really still amazes me is how the gardens (apart from the ones on the embankment) are built out of a football fi eld, nothing else, nothing amazing, just a football fi eld in the grounds of the Royal Hospital.

This is the main point of what I am writing about, some may say it is a point I dwell on too much but it really needs to be said aloud that, with the right designer and the right build team you can literally build the gardens of your dreams. Depending on the land size we could build roaming parks, an English countryside, with stream or river, a tropical garden, an Italian garden, a Japanese garden or modern simplistic garden or even a regular garden.

There are some practical issues with the gardens at Chelsea but that is because they are a show garden and have to look their best for all the pomp and ceremony that goes with the show. But that doesn’t have to stop you, there are a few (dare I say it ) mundane gardens in the area, spaces that lack love and interest, yet again with just a little bit of the right knowledge these gardens and garden spaces can be transformed.

We specialise in giving our clients what they want, and we work with our clients to tailor make every aspect of the garden from the design, planting plans through the construction, to help control the project both from a aesthetic, logistical and fi scal point of view.

Be creative or let us be creative for you, we work with any size project from some simple paving to the most complicated design and build projects imaginable for a garden, so challenge us, be exciting and tell us what you really want from your garden.

Congratulat ions to Peter Dowle (Peter Dowle Plants and Gradens) and my old team for getting a gold medal for the Monaco Garden designed by Sarah Eberle. A well deserved medal.
