VEHICLE LIVERY Feature
Hexis manufactures and distributes a unique range of multi layered PVC cast film suitable for vehicle wrapping application. Unlike conventional PVC cast materials in today’s market, Hexis manufactures its vinyls with multiple layers to provide maximum flexibility and conformability, giving users total confidence when applying Hexis films. The new technology of HEX ‘Press adhesive means the material facilitates the escape of trapped air, avoiding any air bubbles or creases during application. This enables the applicator of the film to work quicker during the fitting of the vinyl, saving money in application and labour time. These products have been exclusively manufactured for application onto premium sports cars and commercial vehicles where the owner requires a change of body colour or application of eye-catching designs or graphics. As an alternatively to its printable HX100 range Hexis
offers the HX20000 / HX30000 range, soon to be launched at a new wider width of 1520mm, making the challenge of larger substrates more achievable without any joins or unnecessary stretching. The HX30000 is a decorative automotive tuning series
consisting of Alligator, Sequin, Carbon fibre, Brushed Aluminium, and Vario chrome, all in various colours. It is a premium speciality cast vinyl series specially designed for bespoke full vehicle wraps. The vinyl film is a multi layered cast PVC, due to its extreme flexibility and high conformability, fast and risk free transfers are practically guaranteed. It is particularly recommended for complex compound curved surfaces on any vehicle. The range features a long term outdoor durability and is the ultimate high end solution for vehicle markings and other substrates with long life cycles. The HX20000 series is a high gloss cast PVC specially
designed for solid colour vehicle wraps. Due to the thickness of the cast vinyl the colours are very stable during application, even after strong deformation the whitening effect is negligible This series is available in 36 high gloss colours, including metallic and lustre metallic. In order to create a fashionable matt finish vehicle wrap film, Hexis recommends lamination with its PC30M2 matt cast PVC laminate. Hexis is so confident that it says this cast laminate is probably the best matt finish ever seen.
Vinyl films protect bodywork and paintwork of vehicles, from
the elements, minor stone chips, scratches, scuffs and insect damage. It can even be polished during its life on the vehicle with Hexis’ new range of after care products. Carbon Era in Bristol chooses to use Hexis for its wrapping
requirements, a spokesperson explained why: “At Carbon: Era our customers demand the highest quality of materials in order to replicate paint and specialists finishes such as carbon and brushed aluminium. Our demands can vary from roofs and bonnet colour changes, to full vehicle and motorcycle wraps which encompass a multitude of complex curves and contours. Working with areas such as front bumpers, light panels and motorcycle fairings require a vinyl which can be repositioned simply and easily in order to obtain maximum adhesive and conformity. We choose the Hexis range of vinyls not only for their up-to-the-minute colours and finishes, but also their HEX ‘Press technology gives an excellent amount of flexibility, conformity and adhesion whilst being less prone to surface scratches and other affects normally associated with competitor products.” Hexis has opened a brand new Academy to demonstrate
its range of vehicle wrapping vinyls and teach the secrets of vehicle wrapping and its HEX ‘Press wrap series. Training courses, from Level 1 to 4, are designed to meet both the needs of beginners and also experienced vehicle wrappers looking to extend their knowledge with cast vinyl. Level 1 (demonstration and knowledge) for those new to
vehicle wrapping, teaches attendees about material background, preparation prior to fitting, application temperatures and tools required to apply cast films. Live demonstrations are held throughout the day by expert vehicle wrapping trainer Oliver Rohler. Level 2 (fitting and understanding) and Level 3 (creating a job from start to finish) build on the knowledge of experienced wrappers under the presence of trainer James Steane. Level 4 takes place at a customer’s premises and is for both beginners and experienced wrappers. To view the Hexis range, go to
