Cornwallis Academy on
course to open this autumn
This September sees the opening of the new Cornwallis Academy building at Hubbards Lane, Linton. This impressive structure will house outstanding facilities
boasting cutting-edge technology such as: • Plaza learning environments • Hi-tech specialist rooms • Four-court sports hall • Astroturf football pitch • Dance, music, art and design technology studios • Purpose-built sixth form centre • Costa Coffee cafe • Open-plan dining area offering cashless catering • Performing arts theatre • Conference rooms Not only are these superb facilities designed to enhance
students’ education, but they will be available to hire by businesses, community groups and individuals seven days a week. A variety of adult and family courses will also operate from the building and its sister school, New Line Learning Academy in Boughton Lane, Loose. Classes on timetable include boxercise, pilates, Bollywood
dance, yoga, amateur boxing and a Chinese Saturday school. There are also plans to introduce zumba, floristry, sugar craft and Weight Watchers in the not too distant future.

from the commu- nity team, which is responsible for lettings and course bookings, says: “We aim to provide a range of services and activities beyond the school day to meet the needs of and to engage with our wider community.
