Balloons and Bentleys Leeds Castle September 3 - 4
A celebration of travel from the Edwardian era to the 1930s. Hot air balloons, steam engines, boats and veteran cars will all be on display on the Cedar Lawn. There will also be a craft fair of over 75 stalls offering beautiful items for sale. A great day out for all the family.
Faversham Hop Festival September 3 - 4
This lively and popular event recalls the traditional celebrations associated with the hop harvest. With plenty to do and see, including live music, arts, crafts and Morris Dancers, enjoy the merriment with a pint in hand. The brewery and Shepherd Neame pubs host a variety of activities over the weekend.
Morris Minor Showcase Kent Life, Sandling, nr Maidstone September 4
The Kent branches of the Morris Minor Club will be celebrating their 19th annual club show at Kent Life. See up to 100 of these magnificent cars at their best, set in the beautiful 28 acres of grounds. With many different types of Morris Minors on display, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about an iconic vehicle!
Sunset Jousting and Open Air Cinema Leeds Castle September 9
Watch knights on horseback joust in the castle grounds, set against the sunset and historic backdrop of the 900 year-old castle. Following the tournament, there will be an open air cinema screening of “A Knight’s Tale” starring Heath Ledger. The film is rated PG. Gates open at 6pm.
Friends of Kent Churches Sponsored Ride & Stride September 10
A popular event to raise money for your local church and the Friends of Kent Churches. Churches are open all over Kent. There are sure to be some in your area, which you will be very welcome to visit. Plan your own route to visit as many churches as you like, either by bike or by foot, to start and finish any time between 10am and 6pm. You will be welcomed with refreshments at many of them. Hops ‘n’ Harvest Festival Kent Life, Maidstone September 10 – 11
