INTERVIEW

What do you hope to see Foster Skills Inc doing in the next decade to come? I hope to see Foster Skills create a social movement that creates a seed change that changes the landscape of the problem, and, more importantly, I want Foster Skills to become the largest resources for foster youth. My staff and I want Foster Skills to become a model for future nonprofits and program while. In addition, we want to become a beacon of hope for children in foster care; essentially, we want foster youth to know they have help overcoming challenges. It seems that foster care will always exits, but we are confident in our ability to contribute beyond ourselves and affect young lives.

What is your future plan? After law school, I will open up my own law firm and use litigation as a policy-making tool to fight policies that are countermajoritarian. I will effectively challenge systems in the United States to help many people, and bring about the most positive change because a policy is only as good as its implementation.

Do you have a personal motto or quote for our readers?

In Leadership Academy, I was told the following: “Excuses are mere monuments of nothingness, building bridges to nowhere, and those who choose to follow such in competent paths are destined for failure.” – POB “Success is both luck and a well-organized plan.” – Marquis
