here used to be a time when paper ruled supreme. When the quality and craftsmanship that went into making paper was a reflection of countless years of the practice and mastery. A time when the most important docu-
ments, books, art and little nothings scribbled on tiny scraps of paper meant that this product had to be of quality, aesthetically pleasing and durable.

ike so many things in this world, these times are long gone, and when one thinks of paper now, we merely think of the monotony of 8.5x11 white boringness, with the exception of course, of our childhood construction paper. Even now, in a time where craftsmanship is all but lost among the capitalist need to maximize profit by sacrificing quality, what we have is a shoddy, mere shell of what used to be.
hile many of us can live contently with the prospect of shifting away from paper products to an electronic alternative (We got you here. This is an online publication!), artists and entrepreneurs like Max Colby refuse to sit
idly by. Hailing from Milwaukee, MN, Max Colby began his art career at a young age, winning awards such as NFAA Young Arts Winner in the Visual Arts, and the Art Congressional Award in 2008. Max’s work, to say the least, is stunning. Visually stimulating landscapes of paper, and beautifully crafted prints are just the tip of the iceberg. His portfolio is massive (like his resume), and it is obvious that Mr. Colby means serious business when it comes to his artwork.
