eferring a well-deserved acceptance to one of the nation’s top two (ivy league) law schools, Marquis founded Foster Skills, Inc. Foster Skills is a legally recognized nonprofit that will launch this year in Boston, MA. Marquis selected a group of brilliant young
adult leaders with track records of success to operationalize the nonprofit because they, too, were close in age to the targeted population. Although the staff includes a diverse mix of talents and diverse fields of collegiate study, they share one thing in common – they be- lieve that youth in the foster care have the ability to achieve life success.
oster Skills, as a youth development program, seeks to provide a multifaceted spectrum of social and professional skills to middle school and high school aged students in the foster care system. Marquis’ team has put together a program that provides foster youth with practical life skills, resources, and advocacy. Thus far, Foster Skills has received a tre- mendous amount of interest from private donors and government officials.
