The European Union, which is phasing out old- style incandescent bulbs ahead of a total ban in 2012, sees Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) as a crucial step in reducing carbon dioxide emissions, because they use up to 80 percent less energy. Replacing existing commercial lighting with LEDs has never been easier. An installation of NET LED Lighting not only saves 65% of your energy costs, reduces maintenance costs by two thirds whilst
cutting your carbon print, but now its purchase and installation can be self financing too. NE Technology Ltd specifies, manufactures and distributes a wide range of LED lighting solutions including NET LED Tubes™, NET LED Lamps™, NET LED Tunnel Lighting™ and NET LED Street Lighting™. 188

XTRALIFT REVITALISES CAMDEN HOUSING PROJECT
A leading UK provider of affordable housing, Circle Anglia, has commis- sioned the Dartford branch of Stannah Lift Services to modernise the passen- ger lift system in a social housing development in Theobalds Road, Camden, London. Circle Anglia’s specification criteria resulted in the selection of a pas- senger lift from Stannah’s new Xtralift range to serve this low-rise, four-storey development of eight units. Now, an 8-person, 630kg, motor room-less, trac- tion-drive Xtralift moves residents and visitors quickly, easily and safely between all floors at a speed of 1 m/s. Completely replacing the existing hydraulic-drive lift (from another manufacturer) but retaining the lift shaft, the Xtralift was supplied as a basic model finished to the client’s specification. This comprised individual small car panels separated by tough Darvic strips; a vandal-resistant ceiling, lighting, and polished stainless steel mirror. t 01264 332244
