s one of the youngest com-

petitors, Joel was up against 9 other young chefs from our district.

Young chef 2009 T

he atmosphere in the waiting room was very relaxed and

friendly although there was a de- gree of tension in the air and when the young Chefs produced their food it was a joy to behold. The standard of all the Chefs was very high indeed. He was not successful on this occasion but he thoroughly enjoyed the ex- perience which I feel will stand him in good stead for next year when he has another go. each of the chefs received a present from the district governor.

T

he winner and runner up in

this district final went on to the re- gional final and we wish them good luck as they try for a place in the national

final which will be held at Westminster hall .London on the 19th. April.
