How many Casinos has Grupo Conei in its operation?
This is the first Casino Grupo Conei has in its operation. The reason to build the Gran Casino Costa Brava was to cope all the gaming private business in Spain. Nowadays Grupo Conei has companies in AWP Slots, as a manufacturer and operator; bingos and gaming arcades.
Who are the architects for the new casino and how have they made it a new experience for visitors?
The architecture firm is B720, leaded by Fermin Vázquez.
B720 is an important architecture firm located in Barcelona. They developed many other representatives’ buildings in Spain as the Justice City and Torre Agbar of Barcelona or the America’s Cup building in Valencia.
The Casino is a huge open space of more than 2,000 square metres where you have different kinds of entertainment; from gaming to gastronomy or even a place to relax and talk meanwhile you feel involved in the casino environment.
What was the inspiration behind the design of the Casino and the layout? The basic idea came from the sea. The shape of the Casino imitates a wave in the sea because the Casino is built in Lloret de mar, in the Costa Brava, and the town has more than 7 km of fantastic beaches and small creeks.
From this idea the architects created a green space with more than 6,000 square metres in downtown Lloret. All the roof of the Casino is a garden.
How does your new Casino differ from other Casinos in your region? The main difference is Gran Casino Costa Brava has been the first Casino in Catalunya designed and built for what it is: a Casino.
For this, our facilities enable us have poker tournaments with 1,000 participants or even more.
This is possible because in the second floor we have other clear space that is connected to the Casino, so we can have a big tournament in the second floor and the Casino can still work as it does every day without affecting the rest of our clients.
