MEI has signed a major contract in Italy with concessionaire Cogetech to equip its 5,200 VLTs with the CashFlow SC note validator


Cogetech and MEI recently signed a partnership for all of Cogetech’s VLT games to be equipped with the MEI CASHFLOW SC note validators. The nine year contract includes Cogetech’s 5,200 existing machines as well as all future orders it receives.

VLT Deal: Casinos Austria International and Cogetech signed a joint venture agreement in April to enter the video lottery gaming sector in Italy. The two partners invested a total of €40m in the creation of new company – Azzurro Gaming – based in Milan, Italy. CAI holds a 75 per cent stake and Cogetech a 25 per cent stake in Azzurro Gaming. The partners plan to open 15 to 20 video lottery gaming outlets in the area between Rome and the northern Italian border region over the next two years. Each outlet will take the form of a ‘mini casino’ and feature between 50 to 150 VLTs.

originally as a joint venture between Cogemat, a group of Italian gaming entrepreneurs, and the American gaming operator Gtech Corporation. Today, (after Gtech existed the business) Cogetech is owned by its founders (45 per cent) and by OI GAMES II (SPV of the two leading private equity firms Orlando Management and Investindustrial) that controls the company with 55 per cent share capital.


Its expertise in developing and implementing advanced technological solutions as well as deep industry knowledge, both local and international, are the strongholds for the creation of a network for the management of amusement machines (AWPs). Cogetech is based in Milan and Rome and operates through a widespread shops network throughout the Italian territory employing more than 400 people and with annual sales exceeding 200 million euros.
