Karob Studios Expands Art Medium List
K
arob Studios, in Leucadia, is expanding class schedules and their art medium list to include mosaic, sculpture,
clay, paint and mixed media. Open-age classes are offered from 3 to 5 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays, and from 1 to 3 p.m., Fridays. Adult classes are offered from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursdays and Sundays. Unlike traditional art classes, Karob Studios’ sessions focus on the individual experience. Co-owner Katherine Bender explains, “We provide a highly personalized pro- gram in a comfortable environment, where process is more important than product and the ultimate goal is to positively change participants’ perception of the world around them.” To accomplish this, Karob Studios allows students to pick their own projects and works with them at an individualized pace. Most materials are provided by the studio.

“We have always felt that art is a process more than a product. Our main goal in teaching is to alter vision and perception as the most basic tool in the construction of finished pieces as it is in the interpretation of life in general.”
