ister Circles and Grandmother’s Council/ Open Heart Circles classes will be of- fered at Oasis’ Organic School, beginning in September. The life-skill classes offer girls and women a place to create community bonds with other women and learn social skills. Sister Circles, eight-week sessions meet- ing weekly after school, are available for girls between the ages of 7 and 10. Maria Ste- phens, of Oasis’ Organic School, describes the classes: “The sessions are designed to help create a community bond of sisterly friendship. Through circle times, songs, meditation, activities, role-playing and discussions, we will draw attention and awareness to what it means to be a friend to one’s self and others. We will discuss cliques, choices, options, leadership and self-esteem.” Grandmother’s Council, open to women of all ages, will meet the second
