toes were spreading on contact with the surface and contributing to my sure-footedness. Spook was unimpressed by all this, with his superb four- wheel drive system!


We crossed the peat track and headed towards Brat Tor for the descent to the River Lyd. Being fairly steep at the top I took this part carefully, but was soon easing off the brakes and letting gravity do its work. We got to the bottom without mishap and had a breather while Spook had a drink and I cooled my feet.
