University of Ulster and SISAF scoop major prize
A delegation of American business leaders from Silicon Valley recently visited the Universityʼs Belfast campus to meet up‑and‑coming technology companies.
The firms that won a place to attend the exclusive workshops and to explore opportunities for accessing international funding opportunities included a University of Ulster spin‑in company, SiSaf. The Belfast based drug delivery business is committed to growth through application of its innovative proprietary technology, SiSafeT, to a wide range of dermatological products.
As a direct result of participation in the workshops, SiSaf scooped a major prize – for development of an innovative drug‑delivery system – at the Irish Technology Leadership Groupʼs (ITLG) annual awards ceremony in Silicon Valley, California. California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, headed a galaxy of leading business and community figures at the event. The ITLG awards are sponsored by The Irish Times.
SiSaf was founded in 2006 by Professor Suzanne Saffie‑Siebert, a visiting professor at the University of Ulster. The company chairman is Professor Jim McLaughlin, Director of the Nanotechnology and
