HOMETOWN: Ajax, Ontario // BIRTH DATE: February 22, 1986 SPONSOR(S) / MAKE:
UltimateDrivers.ca / WATCH IT! / Atto Insurance / Espar / Gunk Dodge Avenger
NOTABLE: Entering his third year on the tour, Joey came to the Canadian Tire Series after racing Late Models, Open- Wheel Modifieds and in the CASCAR Sportsman Series. Mc- Colm made five starts in 2009 with a season best finish of sixth at Delaware Speedway. Hopes to do a minimum of 10 events this year and has signed racer / builder John Fletcher as his new Crew Chief.
QUOTABLE: “I want to prove that I can run in Canada’s top level and race with the leaders. I plan to get up there and get my nose dirty. We have some sponsors new to NASCAR and I want to give them something to be proud of. We need to finish every lap, run consistently and be on the lead lap at the end of every race.”
#52 Ron Sheridan
HOMETOWN: Mt. Brydges, Ontario // BIRTH DATE: July 6, 1964 SPONSOR(S) / MAKE: Belfor Restoration / Total Lubricants Ford Fusion
NOTABLE: A Late Model racing legend in southwestern On- tario, Sheridan will run three NASCAR Canadian Tire Series races in 2010 (Delaware, St-Eustache and Kawartha), in addi- tion to his full-time program in the NASCAR Whelen All- American Series at Delaware Speedway. Performed well in past CASCAR Super Series events and could surprise when he’s in the field in 2010.
QUOTABLE: “I’ve always raced well at Delaware and Kawartha, so we’re looking to do well on those tracks. Total Lubricants’ head office is in Montreal, so that’s why we’ll be racing there. These races are a trial, and we’ll go from there.”
BY JOE HAMILTON (CAR) AND NASCAR (INSET) #55 Dexter Stacey
HOMETOWN: Kahnawake, Quebec // BIRTH DATE: November 9, 1992 SPONSOR(S) / MAKE: Bully’s Truck Stop / UniCast Dodge Avenger / Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS
NOTABLE: Runner-up in the 2009 NASCAR Canadian Tire Se- ries Rookie of the Year chase. Was the youngest competitor in series history (16 years, 195 days) when he made his debut, at Autodrome St-Eustache in May, 2009. Finished 14th in the final point standings.
QUOTABLE: “We’ll be doing the whole series again this year. I feel more comfortable in the car this year, after a full season under our belts. We’re running a Dodge on the oval (ac- quired from the EHR team), but we’ll have our Chevrolet on the road courses. I’m excited about the Dodge for the ovals because we’ve already knocked a bunch off our laps times from last year. We’re also a lot more organized this year.”
