FAST FACTS THE SERIES: The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series was es-
tablished by NASCAR in 2007 after it purchased the Canadian Association of Stock Car Auto Racing (CASCAR) in 2006.
THE SPONSOR: Canadian Tire operates an inter-related network of businesses engaged in retailing (hardgoods, ap- parel and petroleum) and services (financial and automotive) throughout Canada.
THE CARS: The fiberglass-bodied cars house a 350-360 cubic inch V8 motor. They weigh 3,000 lbs. and have a wheelbase of 107 inches. They run on unleaded Sunoco Racing Fuel and have an estimated top speed of 160 mph.
THE SCHEDULE: The 2010 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 opened June 5 at Delaware Speedway, near London, Ontario. The series is featured at many of Canada’s top oval tracks and road courses, from British Columbia to the Maritimes. Of the 13 scheduled events, five are road races, while eight are contested on short track ovals. Highlight events include the tour’s appearances during the NASCAR Nationwide Series race weekend at Montreal’s Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the Honda Indy Edmon- ton and at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. In 2010, the se- ries makes its inaugural appearance on the streets of Toronto during the prestigious Honda Indy Toronto race weekend.
NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES POINTS SYSTEM Championship points will be awarded to each driver and to each car of a car owner in each event, according to their finishing

(One point will be awarded for positions after 54th place) If a car passes inspection but fails to make the starting field, the driver and car owner will be awarded non-qualifier points on the basis of his/her car’s qualifying results. NOTE: In addition to the points allocated, any driver who leads a lap during a race receives five bonus points. The driver who leads the most laps receives an additional five bonus points.
