FLINT HILL FARM EDUCATIONAL CENTER We are a 28 acre agro-educational facility located in Coopersburg, PA with a mission to bridge the gap between urban/suburban com- munities and the farm; reconnecting families
to the source of their food and encouraging responsible stewardship of our water and soil resources.
Family and group functions at Flint Hill include educational programs and tours, with available meal options. We offer birthday parties, pony ride packages, summer camps, KinderCamp, horse riding lessons and voca- tional programs which are open to teens and young adults with mental and physical challenges. Spend memorable time with us by the day, week, or weekend or sign-up to work on the farm with our Farmhands and Volun- teers.
Our farm store is open to the public daily selling pastured eggs, goat and cow milk artisan cheeses, pasteurized yogurt, fresh cream butter and smoothies. We are a Certified Raw Milk Dairy through the PA Department of Agriculture and our products are also available at a number of local Farmers Markets from May to November. in a Nutshell To qualify farm products for U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) certification, a farmer must track and report all related activities, including animal feed and food crop practices, livestock health and living conditions, and product processing, packaging, storage and shipping. Requirements are rigorous.
Land must have been free of pro- hibited substances for at least three years. No harmful pesticides, fertil- izers, antibiotics or hormones may be used. Using sewage sludge as fertilizer is prohibited. No use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) is allowed.No irradiation of feed is allowed. There can be no commingling of organic and non- organic items at any stage. Annual inspections of grounds and facilities must be conducted by a disinterested third party.The farmer must undergo a detailed annual audit of purchases, production and sales.
