The Moveo Glass system from Dorma creates elegant flexible room solutions that optimise space, aid light penetration and transmit less noise. The system's sliding glass partitions are designed for maximum visual clarity. The slim, elegant lines ensure that the openness of the interior space is preserved at all times. This system minimises the transmission of noise through the walls, designers can now incorporate flexible room configurability with noise reduction values of up to 50dB. This solution is ideal for interior environments such as offices, restaurants, hotels, schools and colleges; optimising the use of space by enabling the creation of rooms within rooms. In this way, several different activities can take place concurrently without interfering with each other. Areas can be easily created, modified and removed quickly, flexibly and efficiently. Visual privacy and shade can also be created with the use of the integrating automatic blinds within the partitions.
A-Safe bollards are proving a success in the car parks of Bluewater – one of Britain’s busiest shopping centres in Greenhithe, Kent, which is visited each year by over 27 million shoppers. They were specified by Vita Lend Lease who maintain the centre’s public access car parks which are around 200 acres in size and incorporate 13,000 parking spaces. Naturally, public safety is of the utmost importance in an environment like this, but a balance must also be struck with cost effectiveness. Halifax-based A-Safe offered the perfect solution to Vita Lend Lease with their 750mm high bollards, which are now installed throughout the shopping centre’s car parks.

Hydro-Brake® Flow Controls have been installed into a new dam, near Devil’s Bridge, on the Blackburn Brook, just outside Sheffield. JBA Consulting specified two of the large flow control devices to reduce the risk of flooding on the nearby Thorncliffe Industrial Estate, and surrounding residential areas. The small weir, situated on the brook isn’t large enough to provide protection from flooding. As a result, the industrial estate and nearby housing have suffered flood damage and disruption. A dam is therefore being constructed to alleviate this.
