The first phase of the £6.5 million transformation of Queens Park in Crewe has been completed. Manchester based contractors,
Tolent Construction Ltd, applied
the finishing touches when a 47-tonne walkway structure for the Broadwalk Bridge, spanning 40 metres, was lowered into its support base with a 350-tonne crane. Located in the heart of the park, the Broadwalk Bridge is the fifth and largest of the five bridges built as part of a £1.2 million renovation scheme. The bridge beams are constructed from sustainable Ekki hardwood, a highly durable timber with self preserving and self repairing properties.
