The Süka Group

The Süka Group has combined its state-of-the-art heater technology with greater control and award-winning solar power units to create a heating system that could pay its own way. Abdul Raaj, Commercial Director of the Süka Group in the UK, has hailed the new integrated approach as a major breakthrough in heating solutions. He says that Süka’s eco-friendly heaters can be combined with solar panels creating an intelligent ‘cost neutral’ system that’s efficient and environmentally friendly, and which guarantees 24-hour warmth at the flick of a switch. “We’re the eco-friendly alternative to gas and oil heating systems,” says Raaj. “The benefits of our new integrated system include a 25 year guarantee, fully controllable healthy heating, and tailored solutions for each property, as well as a range of wall mounted and free standing options.

Stirling Lloyd

At Three Colts Lane in East London, a development designed for university students, the addition of an Intensive Green Roof with decking and seating provides a secluded area. To protect the roof and prevent water penetrating into the structure Stirling Lloyd’s 100% effective structural waterproofing membrane, Integritank®

was used on the development. Integritank’s inherent physical properties means it provides a tough, mechanical barrier negating the need for a root barrier and once again helping to reduce the programme time.

Dales Fabrications

Architects on schools and colleges have requested the integration of Dales Sigma Fineline to unify the roof trim and lower storey details as the profile is both versatile in its width and depth. The ability to use it to conceal a gutter is obviously one of the many benefits. Clients who are looking for a more ‘industrial’ concept use the profile to replicate an ‘I Beam’ without the weight, maintenance or fixing issues associated with Steel. The ability to offer a huge range of BS or RAL colours also enables the profile to be matched with windows or cladding in both colour and even gloss level. Where the profile is used as a Fascia it can be designed to accept any of the Dales Plank or Panel Soffit system.

WindowMaster

WindowMaster has launched a new high performance chain actuator for large and heavy windows. Designed as a stylish alternative to spindle window actuators where an actuator that does not detract from the visual impact of a building is preferred, this cost effective WMU888 unit (affectionately dubbed the three fat ladies) can control windows requiring a force of up to 1,000 newtons to open. The use of a chain rather than a bulky spindle means that the actuator does not compromise the overall aesthetic of the architectural design, enabling a feeling of light and space to be retained.
