Spring is in the air. We are getting ready for show season which is less than 2 months away. The WHAO has great line up of shows again this year. What makes our organization worth support- ing is prize money!! We try to encourage local fall fairs to have horse shows with prize money. Some fairs have a standard payback, so no matter who shows up there is a payout! Others choose to have a jackpot system, where the majority of entry fees are returned to the exhibitors as prize money!! It is great to go to a show and have a chance to win back part of your expenses!!
If the fall fair you are involved with want s to make your show a WHAO point award show con- tact someone on the executive to see what it will takes. The best part of an approved show is you get your dates in the Rider and on our website,
www.whao.org.
The WHAO would like to extend their condo- lences to the Johnson family on the passing of

Kathy’s mother, Margaret Waddle. Mrs. Waddle and her family hosted many horse shows at their farm in Simcoe.
Don’t forget about the judge’s clinic on April 3rd. Patty Carter- Pratt will be the clinician. Please pre register, visit our website for the details.
Bob Montgomery, senior WHAO judge, has retired from our judge’s list! Bob has been with our organization as a judge since 1992. Bob and his wife Sandy have been involved in the horse industry for many years. Bob has recently released a CD and plays regularly with the Don- aldson family ( if you want a musical treat you have to hear Toy and Laurie Donaldson’s children play with Grandpa McKay). Exhibitors will miss Bob’s manner, which was always supported with humor and respect.
Peter Emick had such a great time judging Orangeville Fair last year that he is coming out of retirement and will be on the active judge’s list.
