We have had a great start to the 2010 ORCHA season with our January and February practices on snowless, mild days with turnouts of 16 and 14! Again, more new members are coming to try our sport. The next practice is Saturday, March 20 followed by Sunday, April 18.

Featuring a Produc- tion / Reduction from Walkerbrae Farms of Guelph, ON. Consigning 8-10 Registered Percherons including “Walkerbrae Yukon Goldie” who was 1st placed 2 Year Old at Paris & Rockton & Reserve Champion Mare at Rockton & RAWF 2009. Also 2 featured consignments from Peter & Rose Curtis of Belwood, ON. Including their cart gelding “Prince Jasper” Also selling many more Belgians, Percherons, Clydesdales & good driving horses – all top quality animals. A flea market environment will take place at the same time offering numerous tack (new & used). Something for everyone! Fol- lowed by a good selection of all types of ponies & horses whether it be for riding, driving, roping or simply pleasure horses. We have it all!!

The ORCHA will be collaborating again with the OQHA and the Ilderton Quarter Horse Promotional Club to have AQHA Working Cow Horse classes at the Ilderton shows on May 15, June 5, July 23 and August 19. This year the Novice Amateur and Novice Youth will run the reined work and then the boxing only. Our first ORCHA show in Rich- mond is May 30. There will be a cow horse clinic on May 29 with Gene Munger from Freeland, Michigan. Camp- ing is available for those who want to attend both events. June 27 is our second
show in Richmond and our third show will be on July 25 hosted by the Turkey Run Ranch in Brussels. August 22 we return to Richmond and our finals and awards show is September 19. This year our judges include both AQHA and NRCHA approved judges.
Two other exciting events that we are really looking forward to will be the International Plowing Match in St.Thomas from September 21 to 25 and the Wallacetown Fair in October. For more information contact Werner Bohner (519-467-5691) or Craig Black (519-874- 1294)
