The world class competitors, performers and exhibitors assembled for this five day festival are the best in the business, promising a celebra- tion like no other. Event Manager, Ted Wright of the Paris Agricultural Society says it best, “The organizers pulling this all together are the best in their field and the competitors that will be com- peting in the various classes from bull riders to bare broncs, from ropers to racers just don’t get any better. Quite simply, this is a premier event the likes of which Ontario has never seen.” Proudly produced by The Paris Agricultural Society, ‘Brant County’s Foremost Year Round Event Facility’ in association with Joe Scully Pro Rodeo MC, Raw Hide Rodeo & Make A Child Smile Foundation, this all ages event is designed to bring people together to feel, taste, touch and experience the Western Way of Life while cele- brating our great nation’s birthday.

“Snowfall, Summer Cabin” by Krista Breen is Another Winner

Well, just in case you’re counting,” Snowfall, Summer Cabin” is the 6th in Krista Breen’s Dakotaroo mystery series. And as always, readers will not be disap- pointed. This talented author fills her stories with mystery, travel, adventure, action, suspense, a bit of danger - And lots of horses!!! She provides realistic characters and believable relationships in real life locations. The writer obvious- ly knows and understands horses and has experience in competition. She uses plenty of detail and appropriate lingo that other “barn brats” will recognize and appreci- ate. I suggest readers begin with the first book where the characters are developed and relationships established. Not to mention, it’s
just a really great story. The books average 160 pages or so and would appeal to 10 year olds, their moth- ers and anyone else who loves horses and a good suspenseful mystery.
The main characters are best friend tweens, Adrienne and TJ. Adrienne’s pesky and curious little brother, Phillip is also an integral part of the stories and always seems to be in the middle of trou- ble when it comes looking for them. Best friends, Mickey Sky- house and Ben Montour, provide more excitement, romantic interest plus an ancestoral flavour to their risky adventures.
This new chapter of their ongoing adventure begins the day after “Knockout, The Hermit’s
Escape” ends. The familiar char- acters we know and love are drawn yet deeper into the mystery of the ancient herd of appaloosa horses, The Knights of Deicha, and the secrets they need to pro- tect. Phillip’s mysterious, possibly alien, girlfriend, Snow, reveals an unbelievable fact and if true, Phillip is in for the the shock of his life. A mysterious fire uncovers the theft of Bert Massey’s 40 year old sports car and evidence sug- gests Dakotaroo and Tourque may be in Danger. Feeling panic strick- en and vulnerable, T.J. makes a sudden and horribly difficult deci- sion. Mickey and Ben escape to Palouse River, and drive right into
