The evening meal was hosted at Wildflowers – a AAA 4-Diamond award
winning restaurant located in the Lodge. A nice touch to start the evening was
the personalized menu printed on parchment paper. Spanish Chef Francesc
Mari Pamies demonstrates his love of and passion for cooking through his
extensive menu featuring some food items from the surrounding area. My
selections (drool at will) were a starter of white chocolate scallop with onion and
bacon tart, followed by lobster bisque, Wildflower’s salad of orange, lavender
and sherry goat cheese and a filet mignon with Central New York flavours, salt
potatoes, Caprese salsa Crudo and Remo sauce. Our exquisite meals were
served at a leisurely pace by a very knowledgeable serving staff. A walk was
definitely required after the scrumptious meal.
Returning to the sumptuous Lodge, I was pleasantly surprised to find my bed
turned down, complete with a chocolate treat to end the day and a handcrafted
Dream Catcher.
After a hearty breakfast at Wildflowers, it was off to the Tom Fazio designed
Atunyote Golf Club, which is the first stop on the PGA’s Fall Tour series.
Located minutes away from the Turning Stone Resort & Casino property, we
were greeted by a guard who checked our credentials before allowing us
access to the gated property. Upon arrival at the New England-style clubhouse,
our clubs were whisked out of our vehicle, cleaned and placed on our carts by
our individual group caddy. Lockers were provided to us during our stay and
then it was out to the practice area, featuring a range, short game area and the golfer’s club and filling in divots he proceeded to head over to advise the
