June Issue Preview
At Flagstick we love to travel, and better yet, we love to “take” our readers
along for our journeys. For a decade we have expanded on our golf travel
coverage with an annual “Road Trip” story. This journal style feature easily
receives the most feedback we get for any story all year long. In fact, many times
we even hear of golfers who have set out to recreate our adventures –
the ultimate compliment.
Our June issue is highlighted by yet another one of these forays this time
putting the spotlight on Kentucky and Tennessee, places yet undiscovered by
many golfing tourists. We spent more than a week traipsing the back roads
and urban neighbourhoods within these states and the result is a story we
think you will enjoy.
Just as the hills in eastern Kentucky & Tennessee makes for impressive golf
settings, so to do the foothills of Quebec’s Laurentian Mountains. That is the home
of Auberge et Club de Golf Heritage, our course profile in the June issue.
A leisurely hour drive from downtown Ottawa, Heritage is coming into its own.
The home-spun layout is blessed with marvellous terrain and as you will see in the
photos that accompany the story – in the Fall it is simply a stunning place to play golf.
For our personal profile we take you into the pro shop at Hylands Golf Club to
showcase their Head Professional, Rob Lindsay.
