Tommy & Lefebvre Bank Street
Location Endures Devestating Fire
The original Tommy & Lefebvre store at 464 Bank Street in Ottawa
suffered a devastating fire early on the morning of March 31st. Reports
have the fire breaking out just before 1 a.m. in the north end of the 15,000
square foot store that was established in 1958 by World Cup skiers Art &
Andy Tommy and Reg Lefebrvre.
More than 90 firefighters descended on the blaze and were able
to get it under control around 5 a.m. The part of the store where it
originated was devastated while the rest of the store suffered
significant smoke and water damage.
Natalie Tommy, the Tommy Lefebvre Vice President, who operates
the chain of six T&L stores throughout the National Capital Region with
her husband, T&L President Kevin Pidgeon, stated that they are
devastated by the loss. Even so they have vowed to rebuild at that
location and say they will do what they can to service all their customers
through their other locations.
Tommy & Lefebvre staff say that if customers have any questions
specifically related to the 464 Bank Street store they can inquire at
(613) 236-9731. The company is posting any updates via their
website at
www.tandl.com
Tommy & Lefebrve is best known as a ski equipment retailer but also has
a strong presence in the golf market in the National Capital. They have golf
departments available at their Carling, Gatineau, and Orleans locations.
