Campus Life
UMass Lowell is a diverse and inclusive com- munity. Students are
focused on getting an education that will carry them far in the future, but they also enjoy a full life on campus. Seventy-five percent of freshmen live in University housing and take part in the full schedule of events—games, movies, concerts, comedians, plays, speakers and more. They also participate in more than 120 active student organizations and engage with the lively arts and cultural communities in Lowell.
Leading with Learning
The 14:1 student-teacher ratio translates into personal atten- tion from world class professors. Fifty percent of all classes at the University have fewer than 20 students. Freshmen belong to learn- ing communities that help them make friends, meet professors in their majors and develop a robust support system during their first semester. The University also offers many accelerated bachelor’s to master’s programs, which allow students to earn two degrees in as few as five years.
Learning through Experience In addition to learning in the classroom, students learn by solv- ing real problems for real people through paid internships or co-ops
