nightclub and a movie theater. On campus, Liacouras Walk is
home to restaurants and shops that make Temple a city within a
city. Students have access to a student recreation center where
they can work out, take fitness classes or run on an indoor track.
The university has men’s and women’s teams that compete in a
variety of intercollegiate sports and students can participate in
intramural sports, sports clubs and 200 other clubs and organi-
zations. For students who prefer to watch sports and concerts,
Temple’s 11,000-seat Liacouras Center showcases sports and
musical performances. Being at Temple gives students easy
access to all that Philadelphia, the nation's 6th largest city, has to
offer. Students are also encouraged to study abroad at Temple’s
international campuses in Rome, Italy and Tokyo, Japan, and in
many other Temple programs worldwide.

student body. Many of the courses in Temple’s new university-
wide General Education curriculum incorporate real-world,
hands-on learning that takes students into museums, schools, and
other institutions in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. Faculty
members bring the critical perspective of scholars and the practi-
cal knowledge of their discipline to their classrooms.Temple also
strives to instill a sense of global perspective in students. In
